Are you left-handed or right-handed? That was easy wasn’t it? Are you left-eyed or right-eyed? Don’t know? Want to find out?
Stretch out an arm, it doesn’t matter which and point with a finger to a distant corner of the room you are in. Keep your eyes open. Hold this position and close one eye, then the other. In one aspect, your eye will match whatever you are pointing at in the corner. In the other aspect, your finger will be way off the mark. If your finger is pointing at the target, that will be your leading eye.
An easier exercise, is to look at the image above. If you are left-eyed, the image is a duck. If you are right-eyed, the image is a rabbit.
What difference does it make? If you are a graphic designer, it helps you create images that avoid ambiguity. It also helps you with placement of messages and images.
