Bio-Degradable Business Card

In the world of large format digital printing, the latest technology is a process called Direct-Media Printing.

The process involves printing a rigid board or semi-rigid substrate on a large bed using a UV curable ink.

The technology is heavily used in hoardings, bill boards & very large exhibition panels.

We have spent the past two years, experimenting with more environmentally friendly printing and especially producing graphics, on bio-degradable substrates. One of the most popular materials is Bio-media.

If Bio-media is placed in landfill, the absence of light and the natural bacteria in the soil, literally eats it.

To test the printing qualities of our Arizona 250GT direct media printer we, printed our business cards onto bio-media and the results were stunning. The photograph does not do the business card justice. The image is vibrant & the 6pt text is incredible.

I like to think we created the world’s first, tear proof, scratch resistant, bio-degradable business card.

If you have any comments, I would be delighted to hear from you.

My name is Steve Howard. You have been reading the digital circus.
