Ink Outside The Box!

The Sentry Box at the Tower of London
The Sentry Box

The Tower of London, is one of the UK’s most popular attractions. On a busy day, over 12,000 visitors, from all over the world, visit this historic monument, to see the Crown jewels, the Ravens and the Beefeaters.

The small, black Sentry boxes which are placed within the Tower grounds, are as famous as the Beefeaters, who sit in them. The marketing department at the Tower, had the ingenious idea, of using one of the Sentry boxes as a vehicle for promoting memberships and subscriptions to the Historic Royal Palaces.

Applying graphics to a listed monument, not designed for purpose, is no easy task. The four images in the photograph show the four sides of the Sentry Box and the promotional messages applied.

Small projects like this, tend to be the most challenging. The number of tourists who were taking photographs of the newly adorned Sentry Box was quite amazing. I hope you think the result was worth the effort?
